Why Fasting Works If You Feel Like Sh*t

Just a few short years ago we had been told for decades, eat breakfast every morning if you want to lose weight or be healthy. We were told never skip a meal if you want a healthy metabolism. And now, here we are, here I am sharing with you the latest studies disproving these theories.

The studies now show we’ve been wrong this whole time. According to Mayo Clinic:

Some research suggests that intermittent fasting may be more beneficial than other diets for reducing inflammation and improving conditions associated with inflammation, such as:

  • Alzheimer's disease
  • Arthritis
  • Asthma
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Stroke

It's important to note that intermittent fasting can have unpleasant side effects, but they usually go away within a month. Side effects may include:

  • Hunger
  • Fatigue
  • Insomnia
  • Nausea
  • Headaches

So what is fasting and how do you do it?

Fasting is an important tool to our overall wellbeing and its roots can be traced way back. It isn't a new concept. We are starting to understand  the vitality of Fasting and have been able to see the spreading  of the message that we can change our life entirely just by fasting or at least skipping meals to purify the body and ultimately our soul.

Fasting is a well-defined ritual needing to be performed with discipline for both good health and evolution of conscience. Due to many widespread misconceptions and self-created rituals, fasting has become a widely misconstrued process. Fasting has many approaches and when done properly has a lot of health and emotional benefits. Fasting is divided into full day fasting and partial day fasting.

I personally went through the experience of adding fasting into my meal planning and learned that although not eating at all for up to 12-hours may seem good, for me personally and what I was finding with my clients, it caused a hangry feeling. My hands would shake, my brain would fog. Some say “well this is toxins, inflammation or free radicals going into your blood stream. I’ll accept that.

Sure.

However, it still doesn’t take away from the fact that this is how I was feeling. So I decided that I would make a program that helped women feel more focus, less hangry by formulating teas and bars that would give them just the right ingredients for their gut-mind connection helping maintain insulin levels and brain function.

Like anything else, fast in a way that feels right for you. I recommend trying to start with not eating after 8pm and sticking to not eating until 8am to start. If you can handle that, then try 15-hours.  If you find yourself feeling hangry, then try our Joule Fast.

For satiating good vibes to your gut.
