Eating for Your Skin: Where Our Açaí Hibiscus Bar Fits
Share
I get asked about skin all the time, usually right after someone asks what I eat. Here's my honest answer. There's no single food that gives you glowing skin, but what you eat every day does show up. I focus on colorful plants, enough water and getting my vitamin C from real food.
why vitamin C comes up so much
Your body needs vitamin C to make collagen, the protein that gives skin its structure. You can't make vitamin C on your own, so it has to come from food. Citrus, berries, kiwi, bell peppers and broccoli are all great sources.
what's in our açaí hibiscus bar
When I created the Good Morning bar, I wanted it to taste like fruit, not like a protein bar. Açaí gives it that deep purple color, which comes from plant pigments called anthocyanins. Hibiscus brings a bright, tart flavor that reminds me of a cold glass of agua de jamaica. The base is chia, flax, pumpkin and hemp seeds with dates, so it's a real snack you can eat alongside the vitamin C rich fruit on your plate.
my everyday glow plate
- A big handful of berries or an orange with breakfast
- Something green at lunch, like my kale carrot salad
- A water bottle that goes everywhere with me
Make it a ritual
I pair a Good Morning Açaí Hibiscus bar with a bowl of berries most mornings. It's quick, it's colorful and it keeps me going until lunch.
